Read the renovation contract before signing
The signed documents should say what is included, how decisions change, when payment is requested and what happens at handover.
Read the whole contract pack
- Named parties and project address
- Final quotation and specification
- Drawings and revision numbers
- Start, completion and delay terms
- Variation process
- Payment milestones
- Handover, defects and warranty terms
- Suspension, termination and dispute process
Resolve conflicting documents
If a sales message, drawing and quotation say different things, ask which document controls and have the agreed correction written into the signed pack.
